Caroline Messner

Caroline Messner was born on the 18th of December, 1999, in South Tyrol (Italy). She had horn lessons at the music school of Bressanone and Chiusa with her teacher Manfred Messner from 2008-2018. During these years, she recieved several first prizes and two special prizes at the Austrian youth competition “Prima la Musica“.

From 2016 till 2018 she absolved a tutoring programm with prof. Norbert Stertz at the conservatory “Claudio Monteverdi'' in Bolzano. From Oktober 2018 till July 2023 Caroline Messner has been a student in prof. Johannes Hinterholzer’s and prof. Carsten Duffin’s class at the University of Music and Performing Arts Munich. She is currently studying with prof. Raimund Zell at the Anton Bruckner private university in Linz.

In October 2019 she won 1st prize and a special prize to record with Bavarian Radio at the “11.Internationaler Jan Koetsier Wettbewerb” with Quadricor. She has participated in multiple masterclasses with prof. Erich Penzel, prof. Froydis Ree Wekre, prof. Raimund Zell, prof. Christian Lampert, prof. Hasko Kröger, prof. Szabolcs Zempleni, and prof. Thomas Hausschild.


In january 2023 Caroline played as principal hornist at the theatre „petruzzelli“ in Bari, Italy. She plays with the "Südtiroler Filarmonica" and played as a subsitute with orchestras such as Mozarteumorchester Salzburg, Hamburger Camerata, Nürnberger Symphoniker, Bamberger Symphoniker and BRSO.

From 2024 on she will be playing with the Junge Deutsche
Philharmonie.
