Damien Muller, born in Luxembourg in 1999 took his first horn lesson at the age of 7with his later friend and mentor Steve Boehm.
In 2015 he continued his studies with Patrick Coljon at the conservatory of Luxembourg-City. In 2012 and 2014 he won the competition „Petites Mains Symphoniques“ in Paris, which made
him a member of that Youth Orchestra until 2016. During this time many musical friendships were build and the brass quintet Delta Five was founded.
In 2013, he won in the 1st division of the Union Grand- Duc Adolphe Competition in Luxembourg, was distinguished with a gold medal and the SACEM-Prize.
From 2018 on, Damien Muller was studying with Prof. Jörg Brückner at the University of Music Franz Liszt in Weimar.
In 2022 he became a prizewinner of the 57th International Instrumental Competiton in Markneukirchen.
Since 2024, he is studying at the Musik Akademie Basel with Prof. Christian Lampert.
Furthermore, over the years he got a lot of experience in the orchestral playing. In 2017; 2019; 2020 and 2021 as a member of the European Union Youth Orchestra, since 2018 as a member of
the Junge Deutschen Philharmonie, from 2019 to 2021 as an intern at the Luxembourg Philharmonic, from January to April 2022 as an academist at the Erfurt Philharmonic Orchestra,
from 2022 to 2024 as a member of the Guiseppe-Sinopoli-Academy of the Staatskapelle Dresden, in 2024 as a member of the Gustav Mahler Jugendorchester.
As a guest Damien Muller performed at Theater Chemnitz, at the Staatskapelle Weimar and at the Sinfonieorchester Basel as well as principal horn with the Nationaltheater Mannheim and the WDR
Sinfonieorchester Köln.
These performances led him to play in the famous concert halls of Germany and abroad with conductors such as Vasily Petrenko, Marin Alsop, Jörg Widmann, Jonathan Nott, Dima Slobodeniouk, Andris Poga, Tugan Sokiev, Herbert Blomstedt, Christian Thielemann, Antonio Pappano, Jakub Hruša and Kirill Petrenko.
